Message from the Union
Welcome to the new CWA Local 1183 website. For the first time in our union’s history, Local 1183 now has an online home where members can easily find important information, stay connected, and keep up with everything happening in our union. Launching this website has been months in the making as part of the positive changes we are implementing to strengthen communication, increase transparency, and better serve our membership.

Our website brings together information that was previously scattered across different places. Members can now find details about benefits directly on this new website, as well as everything else you need to stay updated and informed.
​
Portions of the site are located behind a secure, password-protected portal. We strongly encourage everyone to sign up to take full advantage of everything the site offers. Once registered, you will have full access to the entire site and will also be able to use the member portal to update your home address, email address, and cell phone number so the union can ensure you receive important communications and updates.

We’ve also implemented a Member Updates section where you can share news and milestones with fellow members. Through a link on the site, you can submit information about honors, celebrations, graduations, weddings, special birthdays, and other achievements. These stories help us celebrate the accomplishments of our members and strengthen the sense of community that makes our union strong.

Improving communication remains one of our top priorities. In addition to our new website, we have also launched an email blast system and text messaging alerts so we can quickly share important news, meeting notices, contract updates, and other information that affects our members, so everyone stays engaged, connected, and united.
​
As we continue moving forward, it’s important to acknowledge that while we have made meaningful progress, there is still work ahead. Strengthening our union is an ongoing process, and we are committed to continuing that work alongside our membership. The strides we’ve made so far are just the beginning, and we look forward to building on this momentum with your input and involvement.

Later this year, Local 1183 will begin bargaining for a new contract. In order to prepare for that, we will soon be forming a Bargaining Committee to spearhead the preparation for contract negotiations. This committee will play a critical role in gathering member input, identifying key priorities, and helping shape proposals that reflect the needs and concerns of our membership. We encourage members to stay engaged throughout this process, as your voice and participation will be essential to securing a strong and fair contract.
